January 1977: Development begins in FBCLID 2
December 1981: Little Pump Station constructed
August 1983: Clements High School Opens
December 1991: Christmas Flood – Brazos River crest at 49.68′
May 1993: Thelen Pump Station constructed
October 1994: Halloween Flood – Brazos River crest at 50.30′
March 1996: First Colony Mall Opens
October 2003: Sugar Land Town Square Opens
November 2006: FEMA provides FBCLID 2 draft update of Brazos River model. FBCLID 2 required to raise and re-certify levee.
August 2007: FBCLID 2 joins SugarStone Perimeter Levee group to efficiently raise levee in cooperation with adjoining LIDs.
November 2007: FBCLID 2 enters contract to raise levee
July 2008: Levee raising project complete; FEMA levee re-certification complete in 20 months.
December 2010: Project to increase resiliency of Little Pump Station begins
August 2012: Rehabilitation of Ditches A, D, and G – Phase 1 begins
October 2014: Rehabilitation of Ditches A, D, and G – Phase 2 begins
April 2015: Memorial Day 2015 Flood – Brazos River crest at 50.01′
February 2016: Project to increase resiliency of Thelen Pump Station begins
March 2016: Replacement of Steep Bank Creek Outfall begins
April 2016: Tax Day Flood – Brazos River crest at 49.67′
June 2016: Memorial Day 2016 Flood – Brazos River crest at 54.74′
August 2017: Hurricane Harvey – Brazos River crest at 55.19′
September 2017: FBCLID 2 partners with City of Sugar Land to study drainage and flooding issues during Hurricane Harvey.
November 2017: FBCLID 2 presents Hurricane Harvey analysis and proposed improvement projects to community.
February 2018: Design begins on new pump station based on Hurricane Harvey analysis
June 2018: Rehabilitation of Ditch C Begins
December 2018: New rain and stream gauges installed
April 2019: Pumps ordered for McDonald Pump Station
November 2019: Construction of McDonald Pump Station begins
April 2020: Thelen Pump Station Pumps Replaced
September 2020: Ditch A Widening & Ditch E Rehabilitation begins
September 2021: McDonald Pump Station Operational (4 pumps)
October 2021: McDonald Pump Station Operational (All 7 pumps)
