Fort Bend County has announced there will be a delay in the mailing of property tax statements due to the recent constitutional amendment election in Texas. The Fort Bend County Tax Office is working to have statements mailed by mid-December. Earlier this year, the FBCLID2 Board of Directors approved a major change to the District’s tax collection process by contracting with Fort Bend County to collect taxes. FBCLID2 taxpayers will receive a consolidated tax statement from the Fort Bend County Tax Assessor/Collector. Residents should not expect a separate FBCLID2 tax statement this year.
On September 20, 2023, the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 2 (FBCLID2) Board of Directors unanimously voted to reduce the 2023 tax rate to $0.125 (per $100 of assessed value). This is a $0.015, or 10.7%, reduction compared to the 2022 tax rate, and it will lower the tax bill on the average home by $13.
